- Types of conflict and their phases
- Glasl’s concept of stages of escalation – de-escalation strategies
- Negotiating interests, differences of positions and interests
- Examples from practice, case discussion, the manager as mediator in conflict situations
Dealing with change:
- What is change and what does this mean for members of the organization?
- Reflecting on your own attitude to change, recognizing contextual effects of change in yourself and in the system
- Dealing with ambiguities and uncertainties, achieving transparency, ability to adapt to the knowledge and capacities of staff
- Systematically dealing with and reducing fears, resistance, blocking tactics and uncertainties, initiating interventions
