Conflicts as opportunities - conflict resolution in everyday work

Where people work together, conflict arises. This represents a number of challenges for managers: They can trigger conflict when implementing unpopular decisions; they are part of university-specific interest groups and can take the side of one party in a conflict, or they can be challenged as mediators when it is necessary to solve deep-seated conflicts between others. As a manager you are always responsible for appropriately and constructively responding to conflict, actively promoting collaboration in the your areas of work, and minimizing the risk of future conflict by means of preventative conflict management - no easy task!
This seminar will examine the origin and dynamic of conflicts and present ways to recognize conflicts early and analyze them. The seminar encourages participants to reflect on and consciously shape their own conflict behavior. It provides methodological support for constructively handling and preventing conflicts. Practical examples from participants will be analyzed and worked on in a confidential setting.
