A course of studies is a fundamental educational program and cannot be classified as a form of professional continuing education. As such it is not possible to obtain financial support via Human Resources and Continuing Education. In exceptional cases the employer may provide support by permitting working time to be used to pursue the course of study. This is, however, only possible if the course of study is not only useful for, and supports the interests of, the professional position, but if the knowledge gained on the course is also actually required for the tasks which the member of staff has to perform in the execution of their duties.
